PARABOX

The pavilion is a space of refuge for the stateless and marginalised group. The design speaks of the paradox between the restricted order of being a registered citizen and the freedom of being unconstrained by the state, expressing through the collision between smooth and striated space. This 5m x 5m x 5m cube is an expression of the idea between real and unreal space. Using the technique of collage and calligraphy, the parabox is a interpretation of professor Hiroshi Hara’s idea of ‘500m x 500m x 500m. A new type of residential cube’.
